Recommendations for a French GA insurer please

Not sure where to post this, but this thread seems as good a place as any.

When I move my 182 to France and change the ownership to a trustee, I will also need to insure it, presumably in France. Any recommendations for how/where to go about this? I have insured through AOPA in the US for 18 years and been very happy with them.

Thanks,

John

@johnh new thread created, so you get more visibility.

In Europe, light GA, most insurers insure only in the country where you are based (plus travelling, obviously) so you will need a French insurer.

We have a good number of French owner-pilots here, who can suggest someone.

I followed the advice from this post and I’ve been with Haywards ever since. They handled a ground incident (rudder destroyed) in 2018 very well. The broker is french, pm me if you want his email.

I’d recommend mine: https://phbraasch.com/en/

It doesn’t matter where you are based (within the EU)

The brokers I, or my hangar neighbours use(d) successfully are:

https://www.a-h.lu/Site/Index.html#/RisquesSpeciaux.html

https://www.filhetallard.com/aviation/

https://www.ajg.com/uk/aerospace/general-aviation-insurance/

Depending on the years and the situation, I have found one or the other having found a better quote. Since not all brokers work with all insurers, do shop around for best quote.

I think Air Courtage is widely known and used in France.

I’m based in France but use Haywards in the UK. I check each year and always find them far cheaper than and French insurer.

I used Air Courtage for years. I found them to be very good in terms of coverage but talking to Brit owner friends they paid a lot less for their insurance.

I have this one http://www.ajg.com/uk/aerospace via my belgian agent and am based in Holland. Service of the agent is good and willing to look for cheep/good options. PM if you want to know his name
