Most ATOs require Air Law to be passed before solo, so arguably worth getting out of the way.
On the original question my view is yes if part of career planning – ideally having joined the University Air Squadron for some HMG training first, or a gliding club.
My daughters showed little interest after twelve so the question didn’t come up.
