The Russian way to remove ice and snow - during takeoff

I bet it works every time I really do think so, at least for fresh snow. Snow that has been thawed and become wet and then frosen again, is another matter altogether.

We used to hose the snow off with water. That also worked, but a hangar is better.

Peter,

FYI Russian Pilots are better pilots.
At least their passengers survive.

Compared to this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Ontario_Flight_1363
and this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Florida_Flight_90

I find your inflammatory post a bit below the standard I expect from this forum.

I apologise on behalf of the editorial team of this $300/year aviation magazine that we have not achieved the standard which you are paying for, bodensee747. Particularly in view of your own heavyweight contributions (3 posts before today).
