As several posters have indicated, it is not only correct, but usually the SOP.
At least for myself I try to adopt practices that minimize the errors due to „forgetting things“. When cleared from a FL to an Alt I therefore immediately switch from Std. to QNH when I activate the descend on the AP. Nothing left to forget.
Good thing about digital avionics is that switching back to Std (in the rare case I have to report altitude while still above TL) is exactly the push of one button and with another push on the same button it gets back to QNH…
