Passing channel of Korint
Quite interesting history. Germans destroyed it in WWII and put train wagons and mines in it. Also featured bridges that would be mechanically submerged under water for ships to pass over.

Re Ioannina: could someone tell what is the correct procedure for getting PPR there, these days?
Last time I checked this, it all seemed a bit complicated.
Do you need to contact the handler (which one?) there? Or the airport/CAA? Or both? Which email addresses do work?
What about customs (if coming from/going to say Serbia or North Macedonia)? Does one still need to contact them separately and consider their reduced working hours?
LGIO
1. It’s a HCAA public airport
2. Contact the airport for 24h PPR

3. With PPR approval contact Skyserv

As @Snoopy has highjacked my post and @jujupilote is waiting for the next part of our trip report, now it’s time to continue. After 5 days of hiking and celebrating the greek Eastern on Kithira we decided spontaneously to continue now to Milos LGML instead of Ioannina. To change the plans was no problem at all. Just a short notification mail to Athanasia, the representative of Skyserve at Kithira, and also we immediately got the confirmation from Milos, short after requesting PPR per mail.
So after paying around 100 € for handling, 5 days parking and receiving a perfect service we took of and headed on the direct way to Milos. As the blocking military aera was not active on Eastern, we went straight in and it was a nice 32 minutes flight.
The evening we spend with grilled eastern lamb in a tavern at the beach. Excellent.
I want to see some pics of Kithira – IMHO the most beautiful Greek island
Milos is lovely too…
Beautiful trip!
Great trip!
And we continued our trip after some wonderful, but windy days on Milos to Ioánnina. We departed early, after paying around 50 € for handling and parking for 4 nights, because in the afternoon it should be cloudy at LGIO and we preferred flying VFR. The plan was good and so we arrived so early that we could easily do the boattrip to the island in the lake of Ioannina. The only thing which didn‘t work was refuelling immediately although we have had it advised in advance and got the confirmation. The fuel truck was empty. Hopefully we will get Avgas as promised on Friday.
