Don’t do Mestre. That’s too far away. Booking offers refundable reservations as well. I would book one of those sometime in April.

Booked at Hotel Byron. On expedia you can cancel one day before arrival.
I sugestão to book nos for lido. Vence is a crowded destinación….book something you can cancel one day before. On Expedia you have a map where Lido airport is well indicated.
Just checked on expedia and the hotels I consider can be canceled only until 16th of May. Sticking with booking com.
