Airshow Fly-In

10 Posts

Could anybody please recommend an airshow including the possibility to fly in as well? UK would be preferred, otherwise I would take rest of Europe also into consideration.

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Christoph

Anything at Duxford if you like the WW2 era stuff

Old Warden if you like the early days of aviation

It is always worth mentioning any restrictions for flying in. Often there are… or there may not be much parking, or the parking could be just poor grass, etc.

Perhaps the extreme is Goodwood (UK) which ups the landing fee to a few hundred quid for some motoring event. Unfortunately the road option (the A27) is jammed also unless you get going very early.

Info for pilots for the EKRK Airshow is on the website:

EKRK has grass parking at the hangar area.

We try to fly to an airshow every year with friends.
We did AERO last year, and will do flying legends this year. We would appreciate your input for next year.
Thank you for the Roskilde airshow idea.

The UK seems to offer the most opportunities (with its drawbacks: customs, PPR etc…).

Yes indeed Aero Friedrichshafen EDNY works well overall, especially for Europe’s biggest GA show by far, despite the slot booking system and some “strange stuff” going on with the people in the tower

We always have a big meet-up there.

The two I mention both require slots booking, and the info is on the links I posted. There is no problem parking at either; if the aircraft can land there the parking is suitable. Old Warden is grass, no problem for most GA. Duxford can take up to Citations etc and has parking to suit.

That looks good – unfortunately collides with my summer vacation. And my danish wife would have appreciated it…

Thx for that hint anyway!

Flying Legends at Duxford looks like a great idea for next year. Is it possible to camp next to the plane?

Edit: found the fees on the Duxford pilot info…
