The airport in Rzeszow truely looked like a military fortress.

Great report! Looking at the flight radar traffic going in there all the time I think the big boys follow about the same procedure. Fly the stuff to EPRZ and then continue by road…

Great job! Meanwhile DHL will get your stuff from most of Western Europe to Rzeszów next day.

Just a note to anyone also considering flying to Rzeszów.

A lot of Polish ATC is on strike/leave. It is so many of them, that the number of sectors had to be reduced to two. Flights are cancelled or get delayed slots. The remaining controllers have a hard time separating civilian from military, as there are many more military operations now than before. Below a few quotes from a recent article Another one here

“March 31, early afternoon, PANSA’s Warsaw headquarters. Several dozen people crowd in front of the gate. They are the controllers, including the author of the above-mentioned e-mail. On that day – as reported on the tvn24.pl portal – 44 area controllers (they control traffic over the entire territory of Poland) and approximation controllers from Warsaw (they guard the space around the capital) left their jobs, and by the end of April, another 136 will leave the job. 180 out of 216 area and Warsaw approach controllers. "

“In the report we have received, the controller writes that due to the “military flights zone” that has been operating for several days, civilian traffic “rubs” against the military. “We pass our planes on separation minima” – writes the controller in the document."

“Since the start of the Russian invasion, roughly half of the airspace over Poland is covered by zones intended for military aircraft. Their pilots are in contact with OAT (Operational Air Traffic) controllers working at the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. There are also controllers supervising civilian traffic who are responsible for ensuring that there is no collision between civilian machines and military ones.”

“Two F-35s jump into the southern alpha zone and after the first few minutes, first one, and then the second one, grossly violate our space” – writes the controller in the report on duty, which was received by tvn24.pl. And further: "Telephones are starting to break, curses, more planes already at levels very similar to the military F-35 are a few minutes away, quoting the shouting to the military through the receiver KZ [shift manager – ed.] F* do you want to kill people? "" – reports the controller."

I would guess not. I am writing to future visitors and asking to consider if you want to add another distraction or slight increase of workload to the people at Rzeszów with your aircraft. It is currently a busy place. Yet, it is allowed to fly there and if you think it is appropriate, go ahead and so so.
