Actually I fully expected a +TS right at that point because it changes from cold to warm and that’s where the worst wx is.
GRAMET shows no weather at all except some very low stuff, which is clearly wrong if you look at the above IR image which shows tops in SE Germany c. FL200
I should have gone with Jason, but it would have meant driving to Oxford (2hrs each way).
I too hope for a second chance soon. How about a next time in Zweibrücken? A bit more nicely central in Europe and has all the approaches on could need.

That remark of Jason stung me a bit
- Nancy is a great airport, and I know a pretty good and not too expensive hotel, € 8/taxi from the airport and walking distance to the (beautiful!) centre!
- Baden-Baden? (I could organize a tour through the Mercedes-Benz truck factory in nearby Woerth, the largest truck factory in the world)
- Speyer, has a fantastic museum at the airport and a hotel too.

And Baden Baden has just got LPV approaches, so good for practice with the 430W!
