thx!
He is has No-deice.
Im been unable to find the 0-isoterm anywhere for his route, but I dont think it should be too low.
His planned cruice altitude is at 12000. Has O2 with him.
Shame we can see speed and altitude on the SPOT

Well, we can’t do anything about altitude.
But we can calculate his speed.
Looking at the location at 19:12:47 and 18:43:01, he appears to have travelled 124.2km in 29 mins 46 seconds.
That’s 250kph or 135 kts.
Sitting comfortably at home I tip my hat at his Atlantic crossing this evening – seems to be arriving after a cold front passage with surface temperatures at around 8o C. Impressive, too cautious these days to emulate.
The local Super Cub was delivered new to the UK after a St John’s to Azores crossing. It doesn’t have any radio nav, and this was before GPS – perhaps they carried an ADF?
We can track him here too
Flightaware
Fantastic. I love things like this. Looks like just over two hours to go. What a trip..6000 all the way, and 138kts.
13 hours flight time? Not even THAT bad. I thought that’s more. (I still wouldn’t do it ;-))
Almost there.
By the way, N456T is a nice copy of a V35. I have seen it a few times over the last few years, usually during my trips in our around Italy. Sad to see it leave from Europe.
It had the so-called Colemill Starfire Conversion, plus tip-tanks.
Yes, an amazing flight. Bet he needs a pee.
