Technical stops and flight plan, and customs/immigration required?

Of course you would not do that (see my post) but to AA point: destination country should not care from where you depart or any special arrangements, my point they may do !

Paris/Essex, France/UK, United Kingdom

Destination country does care if it is in schengen and you departed from a country that isn’t, and landed at a non immigration airport.

I cannot off hand think of any other cases where a destination airport cares officially. But, probably unofficially, you get a lot more “attention” in Greece if coming from say Skopje, Macedonia (FYROM), or indeed going to Skopje. But Greece is a special case anyway where they treat a departure to say Slovenia (schengen) differently to a departure to say Croatia (you get looked at more closely).

Is this speculative or based on experience?

No just speculative (I guess doing it France/UK does not count )
You don’t have to fly from the list of “port of entries”, the usual case for UK flyers are Abbeville/Pentoise/Toussus with special arrangements or other cases

Are any of those flyable to/from the UK?

with special arrangements or other cases

Hmmm?

Abbeville does have temporary customs for displays/flyins, Toussus you can buy them for some $$ and Pentoise does have them from time to time (e.g. le Bourget), that does not seem to bother anyone on the UK side (although they are not listed as “port of entry”)

I have no reason to believe either the UK or France cares at all. I did fly to the UK from non customs (recent PPL by ignorance, then for instance a “diversion” from toussus to biggin).

No one ever said anything

The UK deals with all arrivals using the GAR form.

If you didn’t go landside then, in my understanding, you didn’t enter the country

IMHO that can only work in airports that have a clear landside vs airside, with guards, customs/immigration agents and physical barriers between the two. Not “any small grass field”. I have done this, but I have explicitly notified customs at my EU departure of my non-EU end destination, and that my first landing (still in the EU) would be for technical/fuel stop only, that I would stay land-side there and not pass customs there, and my fuel stop was at such a “full” airport, where handling escorted me everywhere, etc. (My departure airport is one where GA has a self-managed access, but we have to notify customs / immigration of non-Schengen / non-EU, respectively, flights and they decide to come make checks or not. I just added the precision to their form, and since it was by fax, I have proof,)

Exactly. That doesn’t work on “any” field.
