Panshanger to Welshpool

Some pics from a flight today from Panshanger to Welshpool (Wales) via Daventry. Not a particularly challenging flight but hopefully you enjoy looking at some of the pictures. Interestingly there is still some snow around in the Welsh highlands.

Nice!

Today was the first sunny day this year, I think - in the southern UK which has been having a long winter.

Thanks. And yes, the calmest :-) Most of last week I canned flights due to 30kt gusting winds but today even at 5000 ft., SkyDemon (my only(and not sure how reliable that is)) source of spot wind measurement was showing 8 kts.

For a quick look at winds aloft, there are many sites which get it from the GFS model. This one is good. Select "QFF+Winds", the desired date/time, and for ~5000ft select the 850mb height.

As you say, very little wind in southern UK:
