Panshanger to Welshpool

For a quick look at winds aloft, there are many sites which get it from the GFS model. This one is good. Select "QFF+Winds", the desired date/time, and for ~5000ft select the 850mb height.

As you say, very little wind in southern UK:

Thanks. And yes, the calmest :-) Most of last week I canned flights due to 30kt gusting winds but today even at 5000 ft., SkyDemon (my only(and not sure how reliable that is)) source of spot wind measurement was showing 8 kts.

Today was the first sunny day this year, I think - in the southern UK which has been having a long winter.

Some pics from a flight today from Panshanger to Welshpool (Wales) via Daventry. Not a particularly challenging flight but hopefully you enjoy looking at some of the pictures. Interestingly there is still some snow around in the Welsh highlands.
