EuroGA under attack

What is the point in any of this? I have ideas but I am not posting them smiley

Anyway, the server is now much faster. There were really bad bottlenecks in the way the database was organised. I am not posting details for obvious reasons, but a lot of work has been done in the last day or so. Yesterday’s attack took CPU usage way past previous levels but the site remained fully responsive.

Another big attack started ~5am this morning but it is not having any effect, after the optimisations which were done.

Hopefully those doing this will get bored with it. And Cloudflare will block the proper big DDOS attacks.

I keep getting “Website is under heavy load” reports, so apparently they are still at it. Looks like DOS Attack.

Yes looks like a DDOS attack. Started 1200. Captcha enabled so the site should be usable.

Whoever is doing this is just spending the EuroGA donation money.

Using a different type of captcha now. This one should be invisible to human users. Can people please report how they find it. Please PM me, because whoever is doing this is 100% definitely reading the forum. It is a large distributed residential botnet which somebody has rented.

As a part of the countermeasures (which thus far are successful although I see the activity had been ramped up again) we managed to create a problem with entering new reports into our airports database.

This has now been fixed smiley

Apologies for the website being down due to another DDOS attack early today.

I accidentally disabled the Cloudflare defence and sure enough the same guy got in.

However, the timing (after some days of peace) revealed who is doing it, PROB99. Exactly who I thought. Obviously I am not posting it here.

I wonder, has the bombing of the Yandex servers have resulted in a decrease of the attacks on the forum ?
