Looking for beta testers: Flight Desk, a flight preparation tool for private pilots

(Apologies first if this is going against EuroGA rules on shameless self-promotion)

Over the past months, I’ve developed a small application that I called Flight Desk to support my own flight preparation flow. I’ve used it myself, but now I’m thinking I’d like other people to try it, give me their feedback, and hopefully find it useful for their own flying!

With Flight Desk, my goals were to:

1. have a place to store as much info as possible for my flights in one place (both in the app and as a one-page briefing I can take in my pocket in the plane)
2. have a tool that lets me keep the overview when planning several legs in one day (having a single schedule for the day with all flights and breaks, keeping track of fuel across several consecutive flights)
3. have something that complement SkyDemon, ForeFlight, Autorouter… (but doesn’t try to replace them)

At the moment Flight Desk can:

• Create multi-leg trips
• Track fuel across multiple legs
• Produce a printable one-page trip summary
• Display METARs and TAFs
• Calculate block time, flight time, Hobbs time and landings
• Perform weight & balance calculations
• Generate title of transport documents
• Generate ForeFlight links / QR codes

The application was developed around my own workflow as a Swiss private pilot flying rented SEP aircrafts (mostly a Mooney out of Wangen-Lachen), so some parts are quite opinionated and specific to my workflow (like the link to the LSPV webcams!).

Access is free, and I’d be happy if some of the pilots here would be willing to try it and provide honest feedback:

I’m working on it in my spare time, trying to improve it, make it more intuitive (and less specific to me), adding features… and I’d be happy for feedback on what’s working, what’s not working, what’s there but annoying, what’s missing…

A few notes:

• This is a hobby project built in my spare time (with AI – see below the disclaimers about it not being an authoritative source :D)
• The software is still in beta.
• I’m using free hosting, and it’s running pretty well so far but I make no guarantee about availability
• It should not be considered an authoritative source for operational decisions, or any decisions actually :)
• Please continue to use official sources and approved flight planning tools where required.

Any feedback, bug reports, feature requests, or criticism would be greatly appreciated.
