We appear to be having intermittent speed issues with the server, but they are hard to track down.
Could anyone who sees really long delays (e.g. over 10 seconds) please report them – either to me by PM, or by email (in my profile), or just post it here. It’s very important to know the time it happened.
Many thanks
On a very general note: the “most recent posts” is especially prone to sluggishness. And the afternoon seems to be the time of day with least problems. I promise to report in more detail, though.
PS if an expert on Unix/Linux performance is required, I am available for a free-lance contract…
Around 7 am GMT very slow, tends to be OK later in the day
I can confirm around 0700Z. I’m usually getting timeouts then. Improves over time.
Same here: slow website response around 0700z.
My experience is that it is very difficult to load the forum between 0600 and 0800 zulu
OK. Some things were changed and hopefully it will be better now.
Much better. Thanks.
Execution of a ‘wget’ still takes between 2 and 3 seconds – bearable, but not impressive.
