Jargon / acronym buster?

Do you think there's scope for a jargon/acronym translation page?

I can see if one spend's one's non-flying time deep in JAR/EASA/FAA regulations that it's all straightforward stuff, but even as a native English speaker, some of the acronyms are baffling.

Or at least decode the acronym the first time it's used on a post/thread?

I already have two of those, they are called google and Wikipedia ;-) And jargon can easily be avoided by writing in plain text.

Sure, I can use Google and Wiki but to go off and use another site to be able to use the first one is slightly nuts.

Totally agree about jargon - so let's try it?

I have a glossary here - written slightly tongue in cheek in places

Wow, pretty good. Now just all the EASA/FAA FCL stuff and we're there!

I'm curious - do other languages have the equivalent of stuff like IMHO, BTW, RTFQ?
