Have also turned ‘watching’ on for this thread – will also monitor this one.
‘Watching’ always (in the past) gave me a notification

Notifications should work fine; I tested them recently.

What I haven’t tested (in recent years) was the Pushover option. Nobody used it, and the Pushover system was not reliable. I have just set it up again for myself on some thread(s).

OTOH email notifications don’t always work because, ahem, emails don’t always work, for all sorts of reasons to do with antispam – more here.

This has stopped working for me. I’ve tried logging out and back in, and checking spam. Am I missing something obvious?

I think it’s working again

Indeed; fixed a short time ago. It was broken (due to a modification) for about a day.

Watching Treads. Guess since the ‘new server’ not sure thread watching is working 100%.
Don’t seem to get e-mail notification on each occasions. ‘Seems hit and miss’
Example – the ‘pie chart’ posted by Peter today on this thread has not arrived as an e-mail notification.
Also watching ‘Malibu in Channel’ with similar irregular notifications.

Thread watch notifications do work; I have an automated process which generates a test post (on a hidden thread) at 9am every morning, so have a high degree of confidence that the whole process is running

However, note that you get only one notification from a thread, and you won’t get any more until you have visited that thread.

And the system won’t know you have visited unless you are logged in. So, people who read the forum without logging in will find that all notifications eventually stop. Other forum features also stop working.

Another explanation can be this.
