A lack of time to do much partly due to staff holidays, so I took up a decent camera to the usual places

It’s sometimes hard to tell when Peter is being tongue-in-cheek but google backs up the reputation for left-wing radicalism. As a child I used to regularly drive past the campus on the A27, and did consider studying there as it was close to family.
No real news here. The paint job is now complete, and I’m just waiting for the mechanics to put the plane back together. The quality and finish are outstanding; look at those reflections:

As another alumnus of that prestigious institution, although I attended somewhat later than Peter did, I can confirm what he says is correct
I did a day trip from the UK to l’Ile d’Yeu LFEY, stopping at Dinard LFRD in and out for C&I and fuel. Interesting island, very much a French holiday destination, would be worth making an overnight or longer trip (perhaps combined with a visit to Belle-Île LFEA). Airfield was pretty busy, actually. FR only AFIS (I had a French speaker with me), RNP approaches (but we arrived/departed VFR). There’s a few bike shops on the island which will deliver rental bikes to the airfield (where you can leave them there as well) for an extra €10 or so.
I checked if the spy novelist Len Deighton set any plot line on the campus – no, but he did use students from there as extras for his movie production of O what a lovely war!
Deighton was a PPL abd spent his last twenty years in Guernsey.
