Over the years there have been so many examples of crappy-reliability equipment, all TSOd etc.
Be careful what you wish for… Getting reliable MTBF figures before certification will add even more to certification costs…
One can do calculated MTBF in electronics easily enough. It’s not great but it would focus minds towards a better reliability.
Maybe no longer relevant when one company owns the GA avionics market
