Yes one can dedicate the #2 GPS to hand flying – much as my #2 EHSI can’t drive the autopilot either but ove can hand fly any approach with it, from any nav source that exists in the aircraft.
It would just be nice to have more redundancy, but it’s interesting to note that probably most people with two boxes don’t have that either.
