Just to reiterate what Dimme said – ForeFlight has all the aviation related info you need, however its basemap could do with improving for VFR flight. The CAA chart option mentioned above is not the same thing.
Dimme,
That look great!
Did you use the mbtiles or the geopackage to render? I started to explore QGIS and liked what I saw but quickly realised I needed to spend some time learning the software.
UK (GB): https://www.jottacloud.com/s/18404cf4c2e83a046bdb80e23110f41f7dc
Spot elevations are in feet.
@Xlr8tr I didn’t use the .mbtiles at all. I used a combination of different files from the Ordnance Survey. Open Zoomstack doesn’t include everything I needed. I hope the result looks good.
However, for some reason, the Ordnance Survey doesn’t cover Northern Ireland, so this is more of a GB than a UK map.
Great work, I shall download it later when I get back from the sim. I find this whole process fascinating, thank you very much.
New URL with overlayed OFM airspace:http://vfrmaps.cryodev.se/
Will also add the other charts there eventually. PDF generation is possible.
I tried to download the charts in the mbtiles format, but the link leads only to the pdf download possibility. What do I miss? Has somebody a hint for me?
@Dimme thanks for the work you have done!
There are no mbtiles on that site. The mbtiles links are in this thread.
Thx. That was the missing link.
Here come two more, Norway ( @ErlendV ) and Greece ( @petakas, @atmilatos ).
All countries can be found under one link: https://www.jottacloud.com/s/184a39caf88337e4c98906185fbb3b7d6df
@Peter, maybe you can edit the initial post and paste the new link for all the countries. Any additional countries will be added to the same folder.
@atmilatos, you could also use it as a basemap under the OFM airspace layer here: https://www.aopa.gr/awg. An example implementation in OpenLayers can be found here: https://vfrmaps.cryodev.se.
