Advice to fly in Croatia

As we have seen here on some occasions, sometimes also the Internet is right and the AIP is wrong.

By definition, the AIP is never wrong

But you are right. A couple of recent examples spring to mind:

  • Customs hours at Carcassonne
  • Airport hours of operations at Dinard LFRD

At least if you go by the information in the AIP, I don’t think anybody can blame you for any wrongdoing.

LFPT, LFPN

I really appreciate all of the valuable information you wrote me, thanks all of you! Im going to start reading all about this,
thanks again!

Hi everyone, does anybody know how I can check the landing fee’s and fuel prices in croatia? I think landing fees are much higher than Spain!

Best way is to google for the airport website and a price list may be on there. Or just phone them up or email them; the staff there are helpful and all speak English.

Spain is very variable in pricing. And if you want a response, it’s much better to use Spanish.

The www is full of info – but none (or very few) of it is guaranteed. At least one can get a bit of an impression from sites like below. Always check locally for the latest information.

I looked up Croatia on EDDH; just one entry and it is for Mali Losinj. I find this surprising since it is just down the road from Germany.

There are several pireps at least for Zadar at http://www.eddh.de/info/lande_pireps.php?pi_icao=LDZA , none recent, regrettably.

For Dubrovnik , a pirep from June 2016.

For Rijeka even one from a couple of days ago.

Still, none of that is official information.

plenty of price info on https://www.you-fly.com

LKKU, LKTB

Wading theough airport price lists is tiresome and usually doesn’t yield a realistic result.

I guess some ballpark numbers would be sufficient for you? The numbers below are a mix of (reasonalbly recent) personal experience and reports by other (credible) pilots, and are referred to an aircraft between 1 and 2 tons, one pax on board and 1 night of parking.

Again, ballpark numbers.

Pula: 35
Rijeka: 35
Losinj: 50
Brac: 55
Zadar: 60
Dubrovnik: 60
Split: 80
Zagreb: 90

No idea about Osijek, but who wants to go there after all…?

There must be more than one way into the EDDH database because here you go – just the one entry.

Most of the reports on EDDH are from people on EuroGA
