Continental engines come from the factory with balanced fuel injectors. No need for GAMIs.
Money is better spent on an engine monitor.
110 KTS and 32 l/h are normal and give you a cheap and comfortable ride.
With Gomolzig exhausts however you lose quite some power compared to Liese exhausts.
Great airplane though!

wasn‘t so impressed with the climb performance though
I was surprised to learn your poor performance. I am sure my R172K is by no means rare but with FULL tanks and 2 people my climb rate at around 85knots is around 1200ft per minute and will sustain that to quite high altitude if absolutely necessary. Short field performance is outstanding.
Well, to be fair, it was quite warm yesterday in southern Germany. Also, I assume you have a two-blade metal prop and no silencer?
Yes to both. I love the aircraft for the outstanding capabilities and reliability. Everything works as it should ( well nearly everything!) and is super smooth ride together with a full IFR fit and great a/p it takes us far and wide.
Good for you Fenland is in the middle of nowhere…
Also, the (unmodified) Hawk XP is not quite as loud as the Reims Rocket.
The noise just wouldn‘t work at most airfields around me.
