FCL008 IR / CBM IR - any news?

In Holland they cleaned the QB in june last year.

Under CBM IR it will be recleaned again .. but at the EASA level?

I think the 2014 deadline will be extended as CBM and BASA are not yet ready.

Well, it was extended till April 2015.

I have just come across this useful summary. I haven’t read it in detail but it contains useful diagrams on the various options.

It is dated Oct 2013 and probably not much has changed. The CBM IR proposal is still waiting to pass into EU law.

It will be interesting what the detail ends up like. Here in the UK, the CAA is implementing various procedures to frustrate the (very few) things where EASA has come up with some improvements. For example the window screens are no longer mandatory for the IR test, but the individual examiners remain free to require them – so nothing changes in practice. Another area is the ability to do the IR test outside the UK, but if you have a UK issued license (which tends to be the case if you have a UK medical) the UK CAA can simply refuse to add the newly acquired IR to your license… We can expect more of the same.
