I prepared a trip report including audio track few years ago. From Phoenix (Deer Valley) to the Oceanside and back. Report in Czech (use google translate if you feel you want to read it) but the audio in US English….http://www.orlita.net/wp2/index.php/letani-do-zahranici/letani-v-usa/unor-doma-za-kamna-vlezem/
Thanks for that @Michal. Fun to see Oceanside harbor, airport and pier on EuroGA. Last time I flew in/out of there. it was between suicidal parachutists who now land just north of the runway. It scared my wife and now she prefers Palomar if we are in that area
I can’t resist a minor, inconsequential comment on your very nice trip report…
You wrote (translated) about US Tower instructions after landing: “Tower said: “Continue on runway, turn left C7, contact ground, good day” He didn’t tell us the frequency for Ground, and sometimes I heard instead of the whole Ground frequency just “Point 8”
My comment is that ATC wouldn’t say “point 8” because 121.80 is the most common CTAF frequency… it isn’t used for Ground. Ground frequencies are very often 121.3, 121.5, 121.7 or 121.9
Well, Deer Valley ground is really 121.8, just checked – https://skyvector.com/airport/DVT/Phoenix-Deer-Valley-Airport
I’m an idiot and possibly dyslexic. The original and most common US CTAF is 122.80 not 121.80.
Sorry for that!
