How to file IFR EGKA-EGHH at 4000ft

The Autorouter produces various oddball routes, with this one being the least weird

N0145F040 GWC DCT SAM DCT THRED THRED1S

The issue is that you can’t arrive at EGHH except on a STAR, and the STARs start mostly a very long way off.

I used to know how to hack this stuff but there seems to obvious way to do this one. Normally a DCT to the airport used to work. Has the UK set a MAXDCT=0? The method here doesn’t seem to work, but maybe some short DCT like 5nm might work.

In reality, the detour to THRED probably won’t be flown, and EGKK will vector you to their ILS after the handover from EGHI (SAM).

ForeFlight gives very simple one:

AVANT BIA

And it validates in Eurocontrol.

Others are also quite simple although a bit longer and higher.

LDZA LDVA, Croatia

That’s amazing. The Autorouter doesn’t find that, but it looks like Foreflight does.
