Flying Eurocontrol IFR with a lost flight plan

Hi

VFR flight plans are only sent to departure (for activation) and arrival (for arrival monitoring and alerting).
Not transferred on the route airports and no treatment through eurocontrol.

In case your routing was planned as fully IFR, all sectors should have it.
The only way they would not see it (yet) is if you are too early.

This being said, there are often technical concerns. :-)
Especially in Italy, and when transferring through boundaries (the activated plan may not go through the boundary… so the flight plan may still be in an unactivated state in the next country).

If your flight plan was partly VFR, then it may make things more complex.

In case your flight plan was IFR only, I am surprised that the routing depicted above was accepted, unless you flew very high (above 170).

My 2 cents

Yes.

Not transferred on the route airports

That depends on the country!

no treatment through eurocontrol.

No, they only do IFR flight plans.
