CAA DVD

There is a DVD from the CAA being sent out called “Loss of Control – aircraft upset recovery, a user’s guide.“

Appears that Stall Recovery is now being called Upset Recovery.

Always knew I shouldn't be telling an aircraft to "get back here, behave" etc etc in turbulent weather and on gusty crosswind landings but now know why.....don't upset an aircraft or you're asking for trouble.

I look forward to receiving my copy :)

No. Let me quote from Wikipedia (Article: "Aircraft upset"): "An airplane upset is defined as an airplane in flight unintentionally exceeding the parameters normally experienced in line operations or training. In other words, the airplane is not doing what it was commanded to do and is approaching unsafe parameters. While specific values may vary among airplane models, the following unintentional conditions generally describe an airplane upset..."

The stall is one form of upset, but there are many more!

More like what we describe as 'unusual attitudes'.
