Pilot Dar I may be significantly less experienced than yourself but I have to say I agree entirely. Practice, practice, practice else you will not have the experience when you need it. I flew a 172 with 40 degree flaps for 25 years and it was a dream to demonstrate. I had the greatest pleasure one day when visiting an RAF training establishment to demonstrate to the student pilots a very short field landing (thank goodness I got is spot on!) and with all the hours I had in that machine it was a very short landing indeed. I now fly something more powerful but still take every opportunity to practice all routines.
