SNOCLO format

Does this mean that only R21 is closed due to snow, or the whole airport?

I think it is actually an incorrect METAR. SNOCLO is meant to mean the entire airport. It should be R/SNOCLO. I think they mean R21///99// which means runway 21 closed due to snow contamination.

The METAR now says EGKB 182120Z 05007KT 8000 -SN SCT015 BKN022 M01/M02 Q1010 RESN R88/4900//

so they didn’t just close the airport for the whole day (like Shoreham did today). I would have been surprised to see Biggin closed due to the small amount of snow we had, given the high net worth client bizjet traffic.

That means all runways dry snow 51-100% coverage less than 1mm

I have both landed and departed from a properly snow covered runway at Goose Bay. The braking action was moderate, but with such a long runway no problem. I suspect that 2mm of snow might be worse.
