How do other people view/interpret such SIGMETs?

I think we had a low level sev turbulence sigmet yesterday evening, so yes would take it into account. When ATC offered an early descent we declined. Then when established in the descent you might want to slow to Va or equivalent and advise the passengers to expect turbulence, seat belts sign on if applicable. In the event the turbulence was quite light.
