The Inverness EGPE flying school uses Tomahawks, a Pa28, and a C172. My last biennial “flight with Instructor” was in a Pa38. I like them.
I have exactly one flight in one, 0.9 hours, F-GDLJ out of Mandelieu in 2005. No idea whether it is still flying, the most recent photos seem to be around 2011.
I don’t remember anything especially bad about the flight, but I didn’t enjoy flying the PA38 and wouldn’t fly one again. Didn’t help that I didn’t get along with the instructor. We didn’t try to spin it though we probably did stall it, nothing especially memorable about that. I landed it three times and don’t remember that being especially tricky.
