IMCR and then CBIR, or CBIR direct (was: IR vs CBIR)

If your aspiration is PPL SE/IR in the UK then you need to be all over the hours requirements for the various routes and put the leg work in yourself. The IR(R) > CBIR route will in most cases work out more cost effective, but you will likely have to drive this. The ATO’s (who you can’t avoid) for at least 10 hours are not geared up to deal with this case as they are so few and far between. You want to work with a very good IRI and arrive at an ATO effectively test ready so that your 10 ATO hours are brush up on known/usual routes from their base.

10 ATO hours will be really for brush up and prep you for specific routes.
