Good day,
I am interested in a modern Engine Monitor to install in a German Registered Bonanza. Any recommendations?
Best,
Timo
Have a look at the JPI products.
Has the EDM800 an EASA STC?
The JP Instruments EDM900/930 has an EASA STC as the primary engine instrument and you can get rid of all existing gauges.
Likely the 800 is also under their generic 701 STC. (Many models have this 701 P/N prefix, and all use the same STC). See foreign STC’s on there website.
900/930 is a very nice unit, but might be a bit overkill, depending on your operations. You might also like to check the 830 for example. That one is only as add-on equipment.
So is this STC for all EASA aircraft or just for aircraft with a FAA type certificate that are on the EASA register ?
FWIW, the original EDM700 and maybe some variants has old UK CAA blanket approvals which got grandfathered into EASA in 2003. The references are here and to find it search for “EDM700:”
The result is that these boxes can be installed in almost any EASA-reg aircraft, I believe with just a logbook entry.

It is for the aircraft which are on their AML list, so be sure to check that.
You can use Peter’s suggestion as well, which might be usefull for aircraft that have never been registered in the USA, and therefore are never included on their AML STC. Robin’s might need to use this.
