Would not surprise me but which politics? Trig is a UK company while almost everyone else is US or German. And if I recall right, that nav-com was due to be certified “any day now” well before brexit.
Doesn’t the 8,33 version of the KX-165A work as a KX-155 direct swap? I know it’s not the OP’s question, but at least for the more commonly installed 155 I think there is an option. However the price is such that a Garmin unit + install might still be the better option.

I was told that it only works for the 28 V version. Mine is 14 V so no joy.
