We (in the UK) are planning to have a new interior fitted in our ‘N’ Reg. Arrow IV.
At same time, as a bare minimum, we want to replace the seat belts straps themselves, retaining the existing metal work.
Alternatively complete new certified set – 2 x front inertia, 2 x rear lap.
Anybody been down this road and knows where to go in the UK, or failing that USA. Even direct Piper guess at a price.
No nonsense certified items / workmanship mandatory.
Or anywhere in France, Germany etc.
Good article here:
I bought an inertia reel kit from Alpha Aviation for my N reg Mooney….it is Not a major change….no 337 required
Thanks Anthony, we’ll start down that road.
I keep coming across the term ‘re-webbing’ and it seems an approved approach.
Any knowledge of that one .
Not personally WA…though it may be a viable option for you if you are simply replacing like-for-like I suppose…
Yes, we want a straight ‘like for like’ replacement for our belts and mechanisms. The only change might be to the ‘colour’ of the webbing.
TTBOMK what’s in the aircraft at the moment is ‘as fitted by the factory’.
Seems to be a lot of Alpha Aviations around the world !!
Which is the seat belt people ? – guess USA.
