And that is the issue, you have to be able to meet the SID climb gradient on one engine or you shouldn’t accept it without an alternative departure procedure that is demonstrated to provide terrain clearance. There are several companies who provide these alternative departures.

It’s not that bad in absolute value (after you pull your chute), it’s just on the wrong side of the scale.

That’s not precise, is it? If you have three engines, it’s still OEI, you have two engines to work with. Right?
I assume so Martin. I was referring to the twin engine case only.

How does a “company” provide a departure?
They design them Peter so that if you lose an engine on departure you have an alternative that keeps you clear of terrain.
Do you mean there are companies who design SIDs for you, for your plane? Who are they and what do they charge?
