Flying Shoebox
Isnt that “shed”? Or is that the Shorts 360.??
Reminds me of a story which may be true of not but at least I thought funny:
Shorts on long final with a load of faster airliners behind. So ATC told all to slow down to cater for the Shorts. One of the trailers got impatient and said “can someone get that shoebox out of the way!”. Shorts pilot: “Excuse me sir, this a SUPER shoebox”. I think that was a Shorts 360.
I always thought Super Guppy was a nickname for these planes, but even Wikipedia lists it as official name. I saw these often as a child, growing up near the Airbus plant at Bremen EDDW.
Never heard of Jojo for Jodels in 30Years.
Morane Rallye – French Revenge

C182 – SUV
D140 – Jumbo Jodel
DR400-180R – Remo (short from Remorqueur)
B737 ZeroG – Vomit Comet
LS3 – LS Blei (German for LS lead)
Bellanca Cruisemaster – Cardboard Constellation
SF25 Falke – Rattel, sometimes Kuh(Cow)
TMG in general: Rentnerjet (Pensioner’s Jet)
C42 and similar ULM – fliegendes Zweimannzelt (flying two people tent)
Grob Astir – Harzklumpen (Resin lump)
K-4 – Rhönstein (Rhön-stone)

@mh great enrichment of the genre!
But isn’t the Rallye aka Tin Parachute?

I thought SUV was the C206/C210, or in another category most civil Pilatus airplanes PC6, PC12, PC24?

But then, some even call the Lancair ES-P that: https://lancairgiftshop.com/products/es-suv-of-the-skies-tee
I learned to fly gliders in an L-13 “Blechnik” (“Blech” being German for sheet metal)

Piper Tri-Pacer = Flying Milk Stool
Perhaps just Flying Stool
With all respect to any owners on the site, I think the Tri-Pacer is perhaps the ugliest GA aircraft ever produced, but the original tail wheel version is perfectly nice
@MedEwok funny that you mentioned the Guppy. I had the same thought about it but didn’t mention it after learning that it’s not a nick name.
In Germany probably more people know the Huey by its nick name Teppichklopfer (rug beater) than by its official name.
One might not like the Tri-Pacer’s looks or nickname, but they’re a pretty good and practical plane. I think they’re so ugly they’re cute… really.
