This must be largely country dependent. For the UK, I am informed that it is fine so long as the LAA doesn’t disappear 
That’s the legal situation. The practical one is getting parts. Some composite homebuilts also require specialist repair skills; according to reports, the Evolution definitely does, and some use military composite repair facilities.
