Homebuilt aircraft regulations in Germany

Hello everyone!

I’m a spanish working in Germany, I would like to build an aircraft but I’m not familiar with the German regulations. My plan is to build a Corby Starlet (light single seat ultralight) but I don’t know if this is allowed in Germany. On the other hand, I heard that it is mandatory to install a ballistic parachute in all ultralights. Do you guys know where I could find the german homebuilt aircraft regulations and if it could be posible to build a Corby Starlet and without a ballistic parachute (due to weight limits).

Thank you so much in advance.

@Chema I’d recommend to get in touch with the Oskar Ursinus Vereinigung – OUV – http://www.ouv.de/fly/ in Germany. That is the organisation in charge for everything that has to do with homebuilt. They are happy to answer your questions.

Happy building / flying
