Private Messages

Private messages stopped working for a little while (a few days) over the festive period. There are various monitoring processes in place to make sure it’s reliable, but it failed in a way that hadn’t been previously envisaged and short of a complete end-to-end check couldn’t be detected. An anti-spam process on a secondary server which has been quietly doing its thing for years without being restarted decided to stop servicing requests properly and so outbound messages were being delayed indefinitely. I’ve given it a strong talking to and it is now processing messages again. Any that have been sent during the off season should now get sent, so nothing should have been lost. That person you thought was ignoring you in a bah-humbug kind of way might get back to you after all…
