Procedure turn offsets and their reasons

Sometimes the procedure turn has an offset of 1° (perhaps more?) than the final approach track. I supposed that the reason is to construct a procedure turn clear of terrain which would not be guaranteed otherwise.

Who knows if this is that right?

In this particular case, I don’t think it has to do with terrain separation. Probably just rounding errors plus less than perfect configuration of the physical ILS installation.

The NDB is not on the ILS centerline. I would guess that there is an NDB approach which is offset 1° from the runway heading (final approach track 309°) and that they want to use the same racetrack for both approach types.

Can you check LFLD or LFCK then

Seems more likely to me. Haven’t seen that the NDB is not on the centerline

At LFCK it probably has to do with NDB being off to the side. At LFLD, it’s probably a small round bit of restricted airspace (danger area?) SW of the airport (see VFR approach chart).
