Just after fixing it up…..
The guy that was killed was on the channel regularly. He was also the guy who owned the 401 before it was rebuilt.
Wonder what it will do to the channel.
I suppose it will mainly depend on what the cause of the crash was…. if it was pilot incapacitation, I guess they’ll continue on, im memorium to Sam. If they missed something during the rebuild of the Cougar, I guess the inspectors will be all over the 401 like a rash…. However it’s a sad moment for the channel, for sure….
NTSB initial report describes water in the fuel. Witness didn’t see pilot drain tanks as part of A check preflight. Fuel cap missing seal is possible water source.
