Took my boys for a flight

Thats Russia at the horizon.. The little island is called “Piirissaare”- literally “border island”

Our 3rd largest island- Kihnu . The grass runway is kept open whole year

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully I will make it to Kihnu once after the pandemic, because this is one of the islands I have not been yet.

Have you been to the neighbour island- Ruhnu? A fun fact about Ruhnu- they use the local priest as the airport operator..

No, not yet. Last time we have been at Kuresare and then continued to Finland.

Lovely pictures. I’d be very interested to learn more about Estonia and especially flying GA there!

Estonia is nice. The western part has all the islands and is very Estonian. I zig-zagged around that part (in summer) a few years ago, see here.

I would check why the exhaust produces all that soot on the wheel fairing.

5h after inspection, where they fill oil to 8qt, the first 1.5-2qt always comes out..

Never let the maintenance people fill the oil sump to full capacity.
Also, it looks like the soot is coming from the exhaust, not from the breather tube. Or is it pretty much in the same position?
