Impressions from my completed journey towards the CB-IR

So what ? One should organise his family life around his flight training ? It’s a great way to wreck your life and the one of those around you.

Life is a compromise.

The point I was hoping to make is that if “you” fly hardly ever, the IR will take a year or two and cost you a fortune, whereas if (to give an example) you arrange with your spouse/etc to take a few weeks off and do something she wants to do (like living on a Greek island or whatever) while you do your IR, then you will come out a much better pilot and spend half the money

In 2006 I was in the US for 2 weeks while my then other half toured Mozambique, which was probably less safe than crossing the Alps in solid IMC at -5C

@UdoR:

Big congratulations on complementing your CB-IR course.
I did finish my back in December 2022, and those PEXO tests was a nightmare to get through.

12 working days for the license to arrive in my letterbox. Not too bad for the Luftfahrtbundesamt I’d say. Thumbs up! Assuming that the requirements also had to be crosschecked by someone quite good actually.
