One commenter thinks the story is fake and I agree. According to the article
Dayle Wap-Johns is a cleaner at the nearby Ayers Rock Resort and saw the action unfold.
“I heard the ‘squeek’ from they tires, too – when he put ‘er [sic] down.”
I don’t believe anyone at 10 km away from a 1000 ft hight mountain could hear a “squeak” from tyres on the top.
The whole paper sounds deeply Onionesque.
