Strubby is a little-known airfield near the coast, NE of RAF Conningsby. I went there a couple of months ago.
A nice hard runway and a very welcoming little club is based there. Avgas available.
There is a grass glider runway and you need to be really careful to not go to that one instead
Due to the crazy UK infringements policy I take no chances
Interesting place. “Former RAF Strubby” which would explain for the remnents of a larger runway where the glider club is.
There is a very nice history site here about this place, which explains nicely how it used to look like.
Looks like the current runway was a former taxiway at the northern side of it.
Lovely that such historical sites can still be used in an aviation context.
