As far as I can see, landing fees haven’t changed much. Seven airports are prohibitely expensive (Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Sur, Malaga and Mallorca). These other are reasonable.
However: parking charges have increased significantly. Many airports (where previously, parking was essentially free, two Euros a day or so) now cost 15 or 20 Euros a day, depending on weight. Not outrageous, but a consideration when staying for a week or so.
Attention: Son Bonet now even has a 37.5/50 € parking fee per day in July and August! (Noone would really want to go there in high summer, but still).
And: all this has nothing do with the dreaded handling charges! Unlike with landing fees, there is unfortunately no single document that clearly defines where handling is mandatory and where not. These fees can ruin your day at places like Bilbao or Girona (where the actual landing fees are actually reasonable).
The interesting thing is that the handling classification starts with twins, there is no SEP category. Which, of course, opens the doors wide to any made-up charges…..
OTOH, it looks to me that some landing fees have actually come down a little.
