Not the easiest GA airport as you have to transit through the main terminal for customs etc.
Depending on where you’re going Morlaix LFRU is a much better option. If your final destination is Brest itself then you don’t have much choice.

No there’s no ATS on weekends. For customs your best bet is simply to shoot them an email, they usually will never show up or answer. Then you just park and walk out the gate. Issue is that there’s not much in terms of facilities if you need a rental or a taxi so please do keep that in mind. There’s an Avgas Total machine if you have the card but I would suggest stopping for fuel in Guernsey if needed as much cheaper :)
Parting thought, comms will be in French and if it’s a sunny day there may be lots of ultralight traffic using the intersecting grass runway.
Is Brest mandatory-FR when ATS is not there?
Not Brest. Morlaix is listed as French only on the Jepp chart, and it is in practice too.
